Code of Contact for SocialNext: Ottawa

At SocialNext: Ottawa, we are committed to fostering a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff. To ensure an enjoyable and respectful experience for everyone, we ask all participants to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

Respect and Inclusivity

SocialNext: Ottawa is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, or age. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behaviour in any form.

Expected Behavior

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff are expected to:

• Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and professionalism.
• Be mindful of others' personal space and boundaries.
• Use inclusive language and avoid offensive comments, jokes, or imagery.
• Report any inappropriate behaviour to event staff immediately.

Unacceptable Behaviour

Unacceptable behaviours include, but are not limited to:

• Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
• Offensive verbal or written comments, including those related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or age.
• Unwanted touching, sexual attention, or inappropriate physical contact.
• Disruption of presentations, sessions, or other conference activities.
• Unauthorized recording or photography that violates privacy.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behaviour

Participants asked to stop unacceptable behaviour are expected to comply immediately. SocialNext: Ottawa reserves the right to take appropriate action, including but not limited to:

• Verbal warnings.
• Removal from the event without a refund.
• Notification of authorities in cases of illegal behaviour.

Reporting Issues

If you experience or witness any behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to a member of the event staff or email info@socialnext.ca. All reports will be handled with confidentiality and respect.
